3D-printed scale model of the 1901 Burrell Compound Traction Engine in 1:16 scale
An icon of steam engineering — recreated in scale
Designed as an exact reproduction of the historic Burrell engine “Old Duch” (AF 4393, serial 2417, built in 1901), this model captures the proportions, character, and engineering details of the original machine.

Every element — from the traditional Burrell green livery to the structural features of the compound engine — is based on direct reference to the real, working engine. This is a true-to-source replica, created for builders who appreciate precision.
Available in Two Scales from June 2026
This model will be released in both 1:16 and 1:35 scale, offering two distinct experiences:
- 1:16 — large, highly detailed centerpiece build
- 1:35 — compact format, ideal for dioramas and collections
Both versions are developed from the same reference of the preserved “Old Duch” engine (AF 4393, 1901), ensuring accuracy across scales.
A Machine from the Age of Steam
Built in 1901 by Charles Burrell & Sons, this General Purpose Engine reflects the era when steam powered agriculture, transport, and industry across Britain.
Today, engine No. 2417 — known as “Old Duch” — remains operational and continues to appear at steam rallies, preserving the sound and motion of early mechanical engineering.

Capturing Every Detail
Every surface, mechanism, and proportion has been carefully studied to translate full-scale engineering into an accurate scale model.
Whether viewed from a distance or up close, the model is designed to deliver depth, realism, and a rewarding building experience.
