ZU-23-2 — One of the Most Famous Towed Anti-Aircraft Guns
The ZU-23-2 is a Soviet 23 mm towed anti-aircraft gun introduced into service in the early 1960s. It was designed to engage low-flying aerial targets but can also be effectively used against ground targets.
The system consists of twin 2A14 automatic cannons mounted on a lightweight towed carriage, providing high mobility and rapid deployment in combat positions.
Thanks to its simple design, reliability, and high rate of fire, the ZU-23-2 became one of the most widely used anti-aircraft systems in the world and remains in service in many countries today.
