3D-Printed I-159 16.00-20 Wheel Set for ZiL-135 by Trumpeter, 1/72

To make your model of the legendary heavy ZiL-135 chassis look as realistic as possible, we have developed a highly detailed set of 3D-printed wheels featuring I-159 tires in size 16.00-20, characteristic of this series of Soviet heavy military vehicles.

The sets are designed for Trumpeter kits in 1/35 and 1/72 scale and are available in two versions:

  • Ordinary — wheels with standard geometry for a clean, “factory-style” stance of the model;
  • Weighted — wheels with a load effect that reflects the vehicle’s weight and creates a more natural tire deformation.

Each set was created using photographs of real vehicles, technical drawings, and reference materials. This allowed us to accurately reproduce the distinctive tread pattern of the I-159 tires, the correct wheel rim proportions, and the sidewall details.

High-resolution resin 3D printing ensures crisp detail and surface quality that significantly surpass standard plastic wheels included in conventional kits.

These wheels are an excellent upgrade for ZiL-135 family models and will help make your build more expressive and realistic — whether for display models or detailed diorama projects.

ZiL-135 — a heavy multi-axle chassis for missile and specialized systems

ZiL-135 is a Soviet eight-wheeled high-mobility chassis designed to carry heavy military systems and equipment. The vehicle featured a distinctive differential-less transmission, twin engines, and independent wheel suspension, providing excellent mobility even in difficult terrain.

The most well-known variants were used as platforms for multiple launch rocket systems, including the BM-27 “Uragan”, as well as other specialized military installations.

Thanks to its unusual design and distinctive silhouette, the ZiL-135 has become a popular subject among scale modelers and is often used as the centerpiece of large military dioramas.

Wheel installation

The wheels fit directly onto the standard mounting points of the Trumpeter kit without modification.
We recommend lightly sanding the support contact areas with fine-grit sandpaper for best results.

Hollow Wheel Design

The wheels are hollow. For technical reasons, a small drainage hole is present, which is easily sealed with a special plug included with each wheel. The plug is located directly on the print platform behind the wheel.
