3D-printed I-170 Wheel Set (Ordinary) for MAZ-537 by Trumpeter

To make your model of the powerful Soviet heavy tractor MAZ-537 look even more realistic, we’ve created a set of highly detailed 3D-printed I-170 wheels, available in two variants:

  • Ordinary Wheels — for a clean, well-defined appearance of the model;
  • Sagged Wheels — to reproduce the weight of the heavy vehicle and give the tires a natural, realistic stance

The wheels precisely replicate the tread pattern, rim shape, and sidewall details based on real I-170 tire samples used on the MAZ family of tractors. We studied archival photographs, blueprints, and technical materials to reproduce the authentic geometry and distinctive features of the original components.

The use of photopolymer 3D printing provides exceptional sharpness, clean lines, and detailing that cannot be achieved with standard plastic kit parts.

These wheels are the perfect finishing touch for MAZ-537 kits by Trumpeter and other manufacturers — helping to convey the weight of the vehicle, add realism to dioramas, and make your project truly expressive.

MAZ-537 — powerful Soviet artillery tractor and heavy equipment transporter

The MAZ-537 is a four-axle, all-wheel-drive heavy tractor developed at the Minsk Automobile Plant in the late 1950s for towing heavy trailers, tanks, and missile systems.

It was powered by a V-shaped 12-cylinder diesel engine D-12A-525 with an output of 525 hp, featured an 8×8 wheel configuration, and could transport loads exceeding 50 tons. Thanks to its massive wheels, high ground clearance, and robust construction, the MAZ-537 demonstrated outstanding off-road capability even in the most challenging conditions.

Widely used by the Soviet Army and Warsaw Pact countries as the main transporter for heavy equipment, the MAZ-537 remains one of the most recognizable and impressive vehicles of the Soviet era — a true symbol of the engineering power of its time.

Wheels installation

The wheels are designed to fit directly onto the standard D20/D53 mounting points of Trumpeter kits without any additional modifications.
We recommend sanding the contact points where supports were attached with fine-grit sandpaper for the best finish.
